Track Story on “Enemy”
(Used with permission. Courtesy of Stabilo)
A couple of years ago my friend, Flint, held a 24 hour concert/jam session to raise funds for a U-Haul to house an art project. For 24 hrs, different musicians (and not so musicians)dropped in and joined the jam. We played until we got tired or bored, swapped instruments, coffee, and cigarettes, and kept the music going for 24 hrs without a moments silence. All in all I think we all had a good time. Flint got his U-Haul. The art show was a success, and part of that jam session birthed the beginnings of Enemy.
Overcome by the enemy
I run
Back up to my room
Where I find your ruins
And love
Will you make a fool of me
You got me doing things
I never would believe
Open eyes behind enemy lines
As I lie on my back
And cross my fingers
This room
It is my gravity
It keeps me on the ground
when I have no weight
And trust
Have you been misleading us
‘Cause I believed when they said the enemy she is a friend
Let’s make a toast
