[Jan 22,2001] : it has been confirmed that the self-titled disc can be picked-up at the following locations: house of james [abbey-town], hmv [langley and a-town], trinity western university bookstore, and the crack shack [6632 glover road, suite 201]. . . or through the following liaisons: joshua barkey, aaron jamison, cary funk, or shane bellegarde. get a copy rather quick. the album has been out for only a couple of weeks and we are already scrambling to place another order

[Feb 5,2001] : the lead singers of stabilo are in the process of getting special ear-plugs that they can sing with so that their hearing doesn't become worse than it already is. sweet.

[Apr 25,2001] : for you keeners out there, sb has a new ep that you can pick up only at their shows or through a friend who might attend one of their shows. it features four pimped-out songs all reveling {sic} in the goodness of a grand piano. it is called the 'this beautiful madness ep'..

[Dec 24,2001] : the official word is that sb is back! indeed, and they are back with a schload of new material to please your ears with. check out the shows below to get a better idea of where you can see them. yes, we are all excited.

[Jan 25,2002] : okay, so, stabilo has just signed a contract to complete its first music video. the band and director are deliberating currently on what song to choose. if you have suggestions, tell us.

[Jan 31,2002] : sorry all for the onslaught of band e'mails but there is just lots of good stuff going on. just to remind everyone we will be on 104.9 again tonight at 8pm for round 3, so be listening and vote. we are also playing tonight at the ocean beach hotel.
we also just found out that we are going in to do an interview on X fm tomorrow (friday) night at 11pm so you can all listen in on that if you want to.

our band would like to thank all of you for calling XFM and voting for us on nessesary {sic}chaos. you guys were the reason we were on for so long, which proves what awesome fans we have. now that we're off that show, it's still important to call in at random times to request us, because radio stations are driven by listeners. the phone # (that you're probably so familiar with now) is 1 877 XFM 1049. If you want to stir things up a bit, try calling the "other station" at (604) 280-CFOX to request us... see what happens.
Update on shows: the next 2 are all ages gigs. On Friday feb 15th we're playing a Youth Unlimited (aka youth for christ) benefit concert at Peace Portal Alliance, 152nd st and King George in S. Surrey, 7:30 PM. Try to come out if you can because it's a great cause we're supporting, and we're also going to be debuting at a few brand new songs..... then Saturday feb 16th we're in Tacoma at club impact for those american fans we've been neglecting for far too long.
Cd's are available at all of our shows, but also at HMV in Langley, Abbotsford, North Vancouver, and soon to be at all other lower mainland HMV's. You can also find albums at House of James Abbotsford and Sam Goody Records in the Bellis Fair Mall in Bellingham Wa.

Well, I guess it's about time for another stabilo e'mail. it's been a few weeks. you must be going through withdrawl.
number 1. we want to dispel all rumours regarding DMB. NO we are NOt opening for the Dave Matthews Band in Vancouver. however much we wish we were. sorry, probably not gonna happen for another couple years.
We just wanted to give a big thanks to all of you for supporting us and if anyone has been requesting us on XFM, a big thanks to you too. 'Everybody' has been on XFM's top 7 at 7 for the last 5 nights and tonight we were number 3--- 3rd most requested song on the station. you guys rule!
in other news, the long process of recording the next record has officially been started. jon anderson will be engineering and producing it. we are all very excited.
we have just put stuff on www.mp3.com sooo.. .now you can e'mail mp3s to your friends all over the world. send them to anyone who you think would appreaciate {sic} our tunes and grooves.
with all the radio play we are having trouble keeping cd's in stock in the lower mainland hmv's so we are signing up with indie pool, an independant band distributer {sic}. Our cd's should soon be in 25 stores in the lower mainland, but for now you can try to get them at HMV in North Van, Metrotown, Richmond, Guilford, Langley, and Abbotsford.
We have 2 shows coming up:

As always, we would like to begin by thanking you all once again for your faithful support. We would not be where we are without you guys. you rock.
First the good news. . .with your help we have maintained a spot in 104.9XFM's top 7 requested songs for almost a month. . .and 'Everybody' has held the #1 requested spot for the last week straight. so thanks for calling and e'mailing in your requests and please keep up the good work.
'Everybody' also holds the #16 spot (best song) as rated by XFM. To check it out for yourselves go to www.1049xfm.com .
We also just got word that we are being played on XFM's sister station in Ottawa.
Our mp3.com page has been doing quite well. thus far we have 2,500 plays which is very good for the short time that the site has been up. so thanks to everyone who has been downloading our stuff from there. to visit the site go to www.mp3.com and don't forget to let friends, family, co-workers, etc. know about the site.
Now the bad news. . .ummm. ..there is no bad news so we'll skip to upcoming events.
1. SB will be performing and talking on Shaw Cable ch 4. tomorrow (monday the 25th) on Urban Rush.
the show is live at 12 noon and is repeated at 5 and 7. please check it out.
2. SB is opening for Wide Mouth Mason at UBC Pit Pub on Thursday march 28. (p.s. WWM is awesome and it would be worth the $13 just to see them. . .we are an added bonus.)
3. SB is playing Studebakers Cabaret again on Friday April 5. lets pack the place out eh?!
4. We were having difficulties finding the time to bring our cd's around to all the HMV's so we are now being distributed by indie pool. Our cd is available in most stores in the lower mainland. . .hmv, a&b sound, and more. If you are not from the greater vancouver area you can also buy it online at indiepool.com .

sorry for the silence. we're back in action.
we have been working hard on the new album and it is finally nearing completion. dare i guess a release date? late february. but you know how it is with us so take it with a grain of salt. thanks everyone for your patience. and thanks to everyone who has been e'mailing and checking up on us. we appreciate you.
anyways, the real reason for this e'mail is to invite you all to a special show. on february 20th we will be playing a showcase for a number of major label record companies. if you are a stabilo fan in any way shape or form we would like you to be there. (if you aren't a stabilo fan it's never to late to start and we would like you to be there too). the showcase will be held at the royal hotel in vancouver.
we are also proud to announce that we have been nominated for a canadian music award for best new rock group for radio for 'everybody'. we were also #11 on xfm's top 104 of 2002. thanks everyone who who requested it.
for all you victoria hipsters we are playing two shows at the soungarden on saturday, jan 18. the first one is all ages at 3:00pm. the second one is 19+ at 9:00pm. hope to see you there.

we hope your holiday season is filled with lots of egg nog, candy canes, and love
we are currently in the middle of setting up a canadian tour starting in toronto on january 26. we will spend a week touring ontario and then hit the major cities on our way back to vancouver. we will give more details on dates and venues as the time draws near.
now. . .we are working on developing a 'street team' in every city to help promote the shows. (i.e. putting up posters, spreading the word any and every possible way.) If any of you devoted fans are interested in being a part of this please reply with the city you are from and we will supply you with details. Any help we can get will be much appreciated.
the ep is finished and we hope to have it released late winter/early spring.

this is chris writing from regina, sask. so we have now finished over half our tour and have been having a great time. pilate is amazing and it's been great being able to watch a band like that every night. we shot a video for everybody in toronto. that was a lot of fun. there has been tons of snow everywhere since leaving vancouver . (we live in a great city! and i think the only one in canada that isn't covered in snow and at least -10) anyways, just thought i'd let y'all know the tour is going well. hope to see everyone at richards on the 13th (or at least everyone who is over 19). peace,.

hello friends of stabilo as usual, it's been a while since we last talked. but also as usual, we are full of new and interesting information. first let me say happy halloween as it's about that time of year. then let me say we will be playing a bunch of shows in the toronto/ottawa area over the halloween season and we're hoping to see you all there.
you can grab all the show info from our website, assuming that scabby cupid hasn't smudged it all up.
now for the vancouver people: don't worry we will be playing in the vancouver area sometime in early december. we don't have dates confirmed yet but we will let you know as soon as we know. we are also getting ready to go into the studio to record a full length record that should be released in the spring/summer of next year. (i say should because our longtime fans know how timelines work in the stabilo factory).
now the most exciting news. virgin u.s.a. has agreed to release this upcoming record in the states which is a big deal for us. that means we'll be touring in the states next year and we're really excited to play for our southern neighbors who have been requesting shows for a while now. we are also releasing 'one more pill' as the next single across the country, within the next couple of weeks, so please help us out and request it on your local station. thanks for doing such a great job requesting 'everybody'! we are also hoping to shoot the 'omp' video when we are in toronto so stay tuned for that.

YES - There is a new album being released March 17.
YES - It is called Happiness & Disaster
YES - The first single is called Flawed Design, and is being picked up by stations across canada.
YES - We shot a video in december but as far as we know it is not related to "Headhunters"

reintroducing stabilo
stabilo is not dead. it was only sleeping, eating, writing, and recording.
it's been a long long time since you heard so much as a whisper from us. i know most of you probably thought we had dropped off the face of the planet.
the truth is that there has been a lot of work and a lot of waiting for us over the last year. . we started recording the follow up to "cupid?" in late august '05 in los angeles with producer, brad wood (smashing pumpkins, liz phair, sunny day real estate). it is finally complete and we are eagerly awaiting it's release in early march. it will be titled "happiness & disaster".
what's more, the first single, "flawed design" has just been released to radio, so please. . . listen for it and if you like it, request it on your local radio station(s).
the video will also be released shortly so watch for it and request it on much music.
we will be launching a new website within the next month. the forums are still active and awaiting your banter. www.stabilomusic.com

Hello all.
I would like to personally apologize for the cancelled shows. The reason being serious vocal health issues. It was a very difficult decision for us to make but felt the risk was too great in playing the shows, with the possibility of procuring any further damage. The problems are being dealt with and we promise we will be back in action before you know it.
